Founded in 1946, the Société des 3 Vallées (S3V) is today an international reference in the operation of mountain resorts. For over 75 years it has managed the ski lifts, slopes and tourist activities of two of the most renowned ski resorts in France, Courchevel and Méribel-Mottaret in the Trois Vallées ski area (the largest ski area in the world – 600 km of linked slopes).

Inseparable from Courchevel since its creation, the 3 Valleys company has skillfully extended its territory to the gates of Méribel in the heart of the 3 Valleys.

1946

  • Creation of the Courchevel ski resort (General Council of Savoie – Municipality of Saint Bon)
  • Creation of the Société des 3 Vallées, then called SPTV (Public Service of the Three Valleys)

  • SPTV becomes Société des 3 Vallées (S3V), a mixed economy public limited company
  • S3V manages 40% of the 3 Vallées area

  • S3V is moving from its status as a mixed economy public limited company (SAEM) to that of a public limited company (SA)
