The S3V manages the Courchevel, La Tania and Méribel-Mottaret ski areas

1946 : Creation of Courchevel with backing and consent of the General Council of Savoie and the town hall of Saint-Bon who both wished to develop winter sports tourism. Courchevel is the first French resort to be created ex-nihilo on a site at altitude.

1954 : Arrival of Emile ALLAIS (1st French ski World Champion) who
introduces new and innovative ideas for the ski area (piste marking,
grooming, work in summer on the pistes…)

1972 : Creation of the resort of Méribel-Mottaret and creation of the linked 3 Vallées ski area.

1989 : creation of the resort of La Tania.

1992 : Courchevel and Méribel welcome the Albertville Winter Olympic games.

2000 : The status of the company evolves : after 54 years as a
service of the « Conseil Général de la Savoie », The company becomes a
commercial entity with a majority of public capital, a supervisory council
  and a board of directors.
