Thanks to favorable weather conditions, the 3 Valleys will open Saturday, December 10, 2011 with the resorts of Courchevel, La Tania, Méribel-Mottaret, Meribel, Les Menuires, Val Thorens and Orelle.

COURCHEVEL SKI SEASON OPENING THE 3rd DECEMBER
In order to please mountain’s lovers and those who are impatient and dreaming since weeks to put skis on, Courchevel put all its efforts to maintain the opening of the resort on December 3rd. If the lack of snow at this period is unusual, Thierry Arnou, Meteo France forecaster, notices that it already happened 3 times in 30 years. So, while waiting to work on natural snow, Courchevel ski slopes employees are more motivated than ever and take good care of Verdons slope, preparing it with artificial snow. It will be the only slope opened during this first weekend, anyway the goal is pleasure and renew with the amazing sensations of skiing. Music will be played for skiers all day long for a festive atmosphere. Pedestrians will also be able to enjoy fresh air at the top of Verdons lift.
Verdons Bar Restaurant will be open at the same time for everybody to enjoy drinks and food.
And for a full pleasure, the ski and pedestrian passes will exceptionnally be free all week end as well as La Croisette car park!
The Méribel valley plans to open its ski area on Saturday 10 December.
MERIBEL SKI SEASON OPENING THE 10th DECEMBER
A drop in temperature at the end of this week will allow increased production of artificial snow.Snowfalls are also expected soon. Our piste and lift technical teams are already working hard to ensure you will have the best skiing possible.
The 3 Valleys links are also due to open on 10 December.
